18 November 2004 At the Society's official launch, held November 4th at beautiful Bronte House, almost a hundred guests enjoyed a balmy spring evening and saw the garden at its best. Rick Falkiner's moody guitar, Patrick's wine and the excellent food served by our members all combined to create a magical atmosphere that will be remembered with pleasure.

Speeches by the Mayor of Waverley, the Member for Coogee representing the Premier, and the Member for Wentworth were very well received and Chris Haywood's Bronte memories poem amused and inspired a well pleased audience. Images, Courier story and, not least! - credits.

28 October 2004 Siobhan McHugh has been awarded the 2004 History Fellowship to enable her to write a social history of Bronte Beach and the surrounding area. Story and images.
